How to use this Farkle score card

There is nothing to install and nothing to sign up for. Four steps:

• Add a column for each player and tap the names to change them.
• At the end of a turn, write the points that player banked. A turn that ends in a Farkle scores nothing, so leave the box empty.
• Add a round whenever you run out of rows: a game to 10,000 takes as many as it takes.
• The sheet calls a winner as soon as somebody passes 10,000. Under the standard rule everybody else still gets one last turn, so add that final round, play it out, then tap “See who won”.

The sheet stays in this browser, so you can lock the phone halfway through and come back to the same totals. Clearing it starts a new game.

Farkle scoring: what each combination is worth

These are the values the common rule sets agree on. They sit here as a reminder for the table. The sheet records what you banked, it does not add up dice for you.

• Each 1, 100 points. Each 5, 50 points.
• Three 1s: 1,000 points.
• Three 2s are 200, three 3s 300, three 4s 400, three 5s 500 and three 6s 600.
• Four of a kind: 1,000. Five of a kind: 2,000. Six of a kind: 3,000.
• Three pairs: 1,500.
• A straight, 1 through 6: 2,500 in some rule sets and 3,000 in others.

That last line is not a slip, and it is the reason this sheet asks for a number instead of counting dice for you. Farkle has no single official edition: published rule sets put the straight at 2,500 or at 3,000, and one boxed version scores three 1s at 300 rather than 1,000. A sheet that totted up dice would be wrong at half the tables in the country. This one is right at every table, because the number in the box is the one you agreed on.

When does a game of Farkle end?

The target is 10,000 points, and passing it does not end the game on the spot: every other player gets one last turn to beat that total. The game ends when the turn order has come all the way back around, which is why a Farkle sheet almost always has one more row than the moment the winner appeared.

Some tables also set a minimum before a player is allowed to bank for the first time. 500 is the usual figure, with 350, 400, 600 and 1,000 all in circulation. It changes how the first few rounds look and nothing else: agree on it before the first roll, and the sheet takes whatever numbers come out of it.

Can I print a blank Farkle score sheet?

Yes (there are two buttons, because they are two different things. Print puts the grid on paper exactly as you see it, black on white and without the rest of the site: filled in, that is the record of the game. Print a blank sheet gives you an empty pad for the table instead) you choose how many rounds, the columns match what you set on screen, and the game you have open is left untouched.

It is the same sheet either way, so there is nothing to choose between the screen and the paper. Use whichever the table has room for, and the dice do not knock over.
